Canada invoice template
Canadian invoices often show federal GST, or HST in the provinces that combine it with provincial tax. This template opens set up for Canadian dollars and Letter paper, with GST at 5%.
What an invoice in Canada usually includes
- Your business name and address
- A unique invoice number and the invoice date
- A description of the goods or services, with quantities and prices
- The GST/HST amount, and your registration number if you are registered
- Any provincial sales tax, where it applies
- The total due, and how to pay
This is a general guide, not tax or legal advice. Rules change and depend on your situation, so check with your tax authority or an accountant.

Questions people ask
What is the rate for HST?
HST rates in the provinces that use it range from 13% to 15%. GST alone is 5%. Change the rate to match your province.
Do I need a GST/HST number?
Only if you are registered to collect it, which is required above a small-supplier threshold. Check with the Canada Revenue Agency.
Is anything I type sent to a server?
No. The document is made inside your browser. Your business details and the last document are remembered on this device only, so you do not have to retype them, and you can wipe them with the link under the preview.
