About this event planning invoice template
Event planners bill a planning fee, and often pass on supplier costs. Being clear about which is which protects both the planner and the client.
What to put on a event planning invoice
- Separate your fee from costs you pay on the client's behalf.
- Show supplier costs at cost, or with your agreed mark-up.
- Bill in stages: a booking fee, a mid-planning payment and a final payment.
- Attach the supplier invoices if the client asked to see them.

Questions people ask
How should event planners charge?
Common models are a flat fee, a percentage of the event budget, or hourly. Whichever you use, it helps to show the basis on the invoice.
How do I invoice supplier costs?
Show them on separate lines, labelled as passed on, so they are not mistaken for your fee.
Is anything I type sent to a server?
No. The document is made inside your browser. Your business details and the last document are remembered on this device only, so you do not have to retype them, and you can wipe them with the link under the preview.
