About this photography invoice template
Photographers often bill a session fee plus editing time, prints and licensing. Setting these out separately shows clients where the value is and makes extras easy to add.
What to put on a photography invoice
- Separate the shoot, the editing and any licence or usage fee, since they are different services.
- State how many edited images are included, and price extra ones per image.
- If images are licensed rather than sold outright, say for what use and how long.
- Ask for a deposit to hold the date, and show it in the Deposit box.

Questions people ask
Should a photographer invoice a deposit?
Many do. A deposit holds the date and protects you from late cancellations. On the invoice, show the total and the deposit already paid, and the balance still due.
How do I price the licence separately?
Add it as its own line, describing the use (for example web and social for 12 months). It keeps the shoot fee and the usage fee clear.
Is anything I type sent to a server?
No. The document is made inside your browser. Your business details and the last document are remembered on this device only, so you do not have to retype them, and you can wipe them with the link under the preview.
